Mount Everest expedition- Adventurous Journey
Everybody knows about Mount Everest, or they have heard the name in their general knowledge class. The Nepali name of Mount Everest is Sagarmatha. Sagarmatha in Nepali means on the top of all. As the name Sagarmatha means it is above all in the surface of the earth. Mount Everest is the earth’s highest peak above the sea level and the range of mountains are located at the Nepal China boarders. Everest expedition is the greatest thrill a mountaineer can achieve in their life.
Everest expedition was first done by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hilary in 29 may 1953. After this, Everest expedition has become the trend for the climbers. Started in 1953, till Jan 2021 Everest expedition has been achieved by 5,788 peoples. In the early years, many people did not attempt to climb the mountain. However, in the recent years the number of people attempting to climb the mountain have increase. Nowadays, about 800 people yearly attempt Everest expedition.
Long ago, there were only few selective routes to get to the summit of Everest. However, due to research and increased people attempting the climb more routes were discovered. Now, there are more than eighteen routes to the peak of the mount Everest.
Everest base camp on the south side is located at an altitude of 5500m above the sea level. The journey to the Everest base camp is the first step to Everest expedition. Comparing to the journey ahead of climbing, the way to the base camp is quite easy. Everest base camp trekking is a popular route and on the yearly basis hundreds of trekkers come here as the final destination to admire the mountain from the base. However, to the people who are attempting the climb this is only the beginning of their journey. The journey to the Everest base camp is about two weeks trekking, depending upon your movement and you are scheduling.
The journey starts from Kathmandu, from here you take the flight to Lukla. Then from there one need, to trek to the Everest base camp.
Icefall is the second mile stone in Everest expedition journey. The altitude of 5500m to 6100m is called icefall in the Everest climbing journey. It is an extremely dangerous area to be in, the climbers need to be alerted all the time. Every instance can be deadly here, the climbers need to be extremely cautious. For an average, climber the climb time is about 5 to 7 hours, however the people who are adapted climbing in such harsh environment it takes about 4 to 5 hours.
The journey of the Icefall is begun at 4 to 5 AM. It is prohibited to leave the icefall after 6AM. Camp 2
After completing the valley of silence camp 2 is set. Camp 2 is set at the altitude of 6400m. The climb is extremely hard. Avalanches and snow storm are frequent at this zone. In this region the body starts to demand more oxygen. The climbers are strictly restricted to camp to close to the Everest face, as deadly avalanches may occur.
Camp 3, Lhotse wall
The altitude range between 6800-8000m is called the Lhotse wall. In this region the third camp is set. The path that is to be taken in this camp is an icy slope. The time range for completing the elevation of the C3, course is four to eight hours, depending upon the experience of the climber and the weather they are facing. The harsh the weather difficult the climb and vice-versa. The C3, area range ends with 8000m and begins the death zone.
Camp 4, The death zone
The human body are not designed to function above 8000m hence the name death zone. This altitude can temperature can be very harsh if not taken care of yourself properly. After reaching C4, Everest expedition journey is about to come to an end.
Mount Everest peak

Risk of Everest Expedition
– Altitude sickness
If you are a person living in plains and have suddenly went in the higher trekking routes, you probably know what altitude sickness is. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, and higher you go lower will be oxygen content. Altitude sickness can have severe effects on your body and even can be fatal.

It is one of the greatest risks of attempting to climb the Everest. The climb is difficult, the climate is harsh and the way can be very tricky. With all these a person on such difficult topography has a high chance of falling. A fall at such climate and eight can be fatal and can result in immediate death.

Above 8000m is called the death zone because the after exceeding such altitude the human body cannot function. If it not were for the oxygen, gears and equipment people will die within the minutes.
The main disadvantage during the climb at such high altitude is that the rescue is next to impossible. Even the slight fall and little injuries can be very fatal as help from the outside is extremely hard. The body of some of the climbers who died during their attempt to climb the Everest are used as the landmarks to go to the summit. The bodies are left there because it is not possible to take the body back without heavily risking the life of other persons.
