Itinerary
Day 01 and 02 Day:
Arrival at Kathmandu valley via Tribhuvan International Airport for Pilgrimage tour in Nepal.
After arrival the visitors can rest for few hours and start their tour around the valley at late evening. Day 1 and Day 2 are enough to visit the valley.
Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. The city has the only international airport in the country. All the foreign visitors that arrive through plane need to first go to Kathmandu to visit Nepal. For the people planning Pilgrimage tour in Nepal, Kathmandu is their gold mine. The Kathmandu valley is known for its temples and holy sites. There are 7 sites that are UNESCO world heritage site and are the holiest pilgrimage there is.
Pashupatinath
Pashupatinath is the considered as the biggest Hindu temple. It is the most key component of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal. The main temple of Pashupatinath, is worshiped as lord shiva. Yearly many Hindus visit the temple to show their devotion to the God.
Aside from Pashupatinath Kathmandu valley consist of other pilgrimage sites. Swoyambhunath, Krishna mandir of Patan, Changunarayan, Temples of Bhaktapur Durbar square and Kathmandu Durbar square, Bangalamukhi are some of the holiest places on Pilgrimage tour in Nepal.
These sites can be visited on Day 1 and Day 2.
Day 03: Visit to Namo Buddha
Namo buddha is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage of Nepal. The monastery is located at the hill of Kavrepalanchok district of Bagmati Pradesh. It is located at about 43 km away from the valley.
On the way to Namo buddha, the travelers need to stop at Banepa to visit Chandeshori temple. The temple is located at Banepa and is the temple of Hindu goddess. It is about 25Km away from Kathmandu and about Halfway to Namo Buddha. Day 3 of the Pilgrimage tour in Nepal is spent visiting these sites and watching the beautiful view from the monastery. The visitors return to Kathmandu to spent the night.
Day 04: Visit to Manakamana and Pokhara
Long journey waits for the visitors on the day 4 of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal. Early in the morning after breakfast the travelers get on the vehicle to reach Manakamana temple. The temple is 140Km west of the Kathmandu valley. After reaching to the gate way of the temple the travelers need to go to the temple through the cable car.
After visiting the temple, the travelers return to the gate of the temple again through the cable car. Then, they need to travel along Prithvi highway to reach Pokhara. From the temple the city of Pokhara is about 105Km away and can be reached about abound four hours.
Day 05 and 06 Day: Visit of Pokhara
Pokhara is a key place for Pilgrimage tour in Nepal. The city is known for its beautiful tourist destination and the holy sites.
Tal Varahi temple at phewa lake, VindhyaVasini temple, Peace stupa, Bhimsen temple, Bhadrakali temple, Akala Devi temple, Gupte Shor Mahadev temple are some of the holiest places in Pokhara. Two days are spent visiting these sites. Also, Pokhara is not just famous for the pilgrimages in it, it is also famous for its natural beauty due to its lakes and magnificent view of the mountain ranges. The travelers can visit their holy sites as well as enjoy the magnificent view and warmth of Pokhara city.
Day 07 and 08 Day: Visit to Mukti Nath
Muktinath is located at the mustang district of Nepal. This day of pilgrimage tour in Nepal is spent visiting this holy site. It is the temple of Lord Vishnu and is a holy site to both Hindu and Buddhist. From Pokhara one can catch a bus to Muktinath or take a 15 minutes flight to Muktinath.
Muktinath is located at high in the mountain and has the idol of lord Vishnu inside the temple. There are 108 holy taps inside the mountain. It is believed that when a person baths in those taps his sin is washed away by the water.
Day 09: Return to Pokhara
The travelers return to Pokhara on a plane from muktinath on the 9th day of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal. This is the day of rest to the visitors. This day the visitors take rest as they are travelling nonstop from day 1 on pilgrimage tour in Nepal. This day the travelers rest and regain their energy to travel further in their journey. There are plenty of places to rest and regain one’s energy in Pokhara. They can either relax at the lakes or chill for the day inside the luxury hotels of the Pokhara city. They can even visit the non-religious sites such as Mahendra gufa, Chamero gufa if they want.
Day 10 and 11 Day: Pokhara to Chitwan and Devghat
Devghat is about 105Km away from Pokhara. Approximately 4 to 5 hours ride from Pokhara the visitors will reach Devghat. Devghat is one of the holiest site on Pilgrimage tour in Nepal. It is located at the Tanahu district of Nepal. Yearly many devotees visit to this location to conduct pujas and rituals in the temples of Devghat. Devghat is the junction of the two holy rivers of Nepal. It is the junction of Seti Gandaki and Krishna Gandaki rivers. Devghat have various caves and many temples of Hindu gods and goddess. The devotees arrive here to bath in the junction of these rivers and worship in the temples.
Devghat is also famous for its Sanskrit schools, Ashrams and the life style of the people living around this region. In Makkar sangranthi huge mela takes place at Devghat. Thousands of Hindus devotes gather here to celebrate the festivals. This mela is one of the biggest mela in Nepal. In the junction of Krishna Gandaki River, a rare black stone is found. The Hindu worship the stone as one of the forms of Lord Vishnu. The stone is unique and not found anywhere in the world beside Kali Gandaki river.
Day 12 and 13 Day: Devghat to Lumbini
Lumbini is located at about 165Km away from Devghat. About 4 to 6 hours ride in vehicle will take the travelers to Lumbini. On the 10th day of Pilgrimage tour in Nepal the visitors will go to the holiest Buddhist site in the world. If the travelers begin their journey after lunch. They will get to Lumbini in the late of the day or in the evening time.
Lumbini is considered as the birth place of Lord Buddha and is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world. Yearly many arrive here to visit the birth place. The site is one of the UNESCO cultural heritage sites and covers a large area with much to see. After getting to Lumbini in the evening the visitors get their rest and prepare themselves for the visit of the next day.
Day 14: Lumbini to Manakamana temple
On this day we travel from Lumbini to Manakamana and after visiting Manakamana, we stay in Bandipur for one night
Day 15: Return to Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu marks the end of the 15 days pilgrimage tour in Nepal. Getting back to Kathmandu will end the tour with lots of memories and adventures. From Kathmandu via Tribhuvan International airport the travelers will return to their destination leaving Nepal with such wonderful times.
