Bandipur yoga tour is a spectacular and mesmerizing tour for historical, cultural and natural purpose. bandipur is a hilly region from where, we can view the panorama of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal ranges. We can see cascading Marshyangdi River. We can enjoy the terraced fields and we can have the never-ending blissful experience. Hindu temples and a big cave are also Bandipur yoga tour ‘s amazing attractions.
After our travel from Kathmandu, when you reach this place with tiredness or fatigue it gets released as soon as you breathe in the air of this amazing land. The neat and clean streets with stones as a courtyard along the way would make your leg more eager to pave on.
You wouldn’t see the tables and chairs laid outside of the restaurants. Rather than in the outdoor setting, the welcome is honored inside the buildings. The buildings of about 2/3 stories in the town allow you to see the surrounding with ease and ecstasy which you can see in our Bandipur yoga tour.
The doors are comparatively smaller in the older buildings than in the newer ones. Almost every building erected on the road has served shops of different kinds.
In spite of having the cultural and architectural set up of the Newari and the Magar, it was once the trade route to India-Tibet. Even though the Magar king had ruled over this fascinating land, Shah King Prithi Narayan Shah conquered this place to include it in the United Nepal in the 18th century.
Since then, Newari started to settle on this hilly land still keeping the relics and structures of the Newari culture intact to this date. Because of its location away from the booming chaotic crowds and urban settlements in most towns of the country, it has still preserved its cleanliness and freshness, along with prosperous culture, architect and custom which definitely allures the visitors.
In the 1970s, there was a decline in business and trade. One cause of this was the transfer of the district headquarters to Dumre. Another cause was the construction of Prithvi Highway on the edge of Marshyangdi valley, which isolated Bandipur from the route. Despite having faced these declines, this serene hilly land and culturally prosperous place didn’t descend on its conservation and protection of the historical architect and structures.
You will get a great opportunity to see such structures have been the most unique aspect to entice visitors to this secluded land in our yoga tour to Bandipur. The establishment of an 8 kilometer road in 1998 AD from Dumreto Bandipur made the access easier back then and today not only for the local people, but also for the tourists who long to relishin the marvel of this place.
The Bandipur village development committee in collaboration with the Dharampani village development committee formed Bandipur Municipality in 2014 AD
Major Attractions of the Bandipur yoga tour
Siddha Gufa (Cave)
Believed to be the largest cave of Nepal, Siddha Gufa is at 437 meter deep and 50 meter high with a trek of about half day. To the northern fringe of the Bandipur village you find the path which leads you to a junction. From the point of junction take right and continue your trek on the stone path to see the most awaited and exciting place of this visit.
About an hour and half you would end up seeing the ancient architectural-like shape of Siddha Gufa is the most interesting part of our Bandipur yoga tour. The icicles hanging on the roof of the cave and also stuck on the floor give you a resemblance of many caves popular for the tourist in Nepal. The chirping sound of bats would definitely remind you of Mahendra Cave of Pokhara if you have already been there.
To make your tour more adventurous you can take your own way or if you are not going to bother about asking others to follow the path rather than enjoying the trek, book the guide at the town, who will definitely make your trip more informative and easy-going.
Tundikhel
Next destination of our tour to Bandipur is Tudikhel. You may be well known about the Tundikhel situated in the centre of Kathmandu city. Nevertheless, Bandipur also has possessed a big land of football ground size at the outskirts of the town. This is commonly popular as the picnic spot and cultural programs which are organized in the village. During the high season of festivals especially in October and November, this grassy ground gets no rest at all with the raucous and raptures made by the tourists.
In spite of having its historical recognition and construction as the trade point between Tibet and India, where they would gather and rest before ascending to the uphill to reach the tiresome Tibet and to step down the scorching India, it has also served the parade ground of Gurkha soldiers who served in British Army.
The most beautiful presence it would offer to the visitors is the view of Himalayan ranges like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Langtang, Ganesh, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu Himal at dawn and dusk.
Padma Library
Even in the very strict and tyrant Rana system, Bandipur was blessed with a library which still exists to the northeast peripheral of the town nearby which Bindebasini Temple, temple of Goddess Durga, is located. Established in the era of Padma Shamsher, the library is renowned for its establishment even in the most frustrating era of education which gives you great pleasure during this yoga tour to Bandipur.
The existence of the library till this date gives the idea that the significant height and honor this place would have conceded in the time of Rana regime. The magnitude and marvel of the library has been embroidered with the set-up of another temple named Mahalaxmi Temple, especially the temple of Newari bravura.
Thani Mai Temple
Coming at the southwest frontier of the town nearby the school you would trail the steep path for about half an hour to reach the top of the Gurungche Hill embellished by the shrine of Thani Mai is next destination of Bandipur yoga tour
In addition to worship the Goddess Thani Mai, the tourists trek to this highland to adore the panoramic view surrounding and the Himalayan ranges laid to the far north leaving the impression of magnificent and breath-taking experience with the sunrise.
From the top of the hill, you would see the white and grey fog spread over the town which makes you imagine like you are in the heaven above the skyline and clusters of the cloud.
The Silkworm Farm
The interesting choice you would find on yoga tour to Bandipur is that you will be provided to visit the silkworm farm. Following the trail downhill around 2 kilometers from the town you would experience the entrepreneurial development of the town.
The plantation of mulberry trees for the food of the warm and overall procedure of the plantation would be understood if you want to go in detail during your visit. This definitely can be your off-the-wall choice. However, it can implant the insight out of nowhere while the visit to the silkworm farm being the most productive and proactive choice than rest of all.

As its name the temple possess the sword which is believed to be the sword of King Mukunda Sen of Palpa gifted by the God Shiva, has been conserved in the temple.
