Everest high pass trek is also popular known as Three high pass trek or Everest base camp trek via Three pass trek or High land of Everest valley trek. The reason Everest high pass trek is often joined with three pass treks have a strong reason. Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La are the three passes of this trek. Some people often use the name three high pass trek instead of Everest high pass trek, due to the very reason. The Sherpa residences, monasteries, Mountain range view, monasteries and beautiful forests are the main highlight of this awesome trek.

Everest high pass trek, is difficult to put it plainly. Also, just saying difficult may be injustice as it also can be dangerous. The journey takes the travelers high in the mountains, the fluctuation in the altitude is too great. Same day. The travelers need to be in very diverse elevations.

Therefore, before aiming to complete the journey the travelers need to be sure to keep their body is good condition. Day 01:

After getting to the flight from their home countries, Tribhuvan International airport becomes the first official destination of our travelers. The travelers will be picked by someone at the airport if they are unfamiliar with the place and have arranged such facilities from the travel agencies. However, if they are familiar with the place, they can find their way around to the hotel or place they are staying.

On the first day, they can either rest as they may get tired from the journey they just had or prepare themselves for the journey up ahead. If they feel fresh in the evening, they can explore some places. The travelers can spend few days at Kathmandu or immediately begin their journey depends upon the timetable they had decided or their will to explore Kathmandu or not. Most spend some time at Kathmandu as the city is rich in various aspects and can even woo travelers in things. The city has been a popular tourist destination since the late ’70s. They surely would enjoy the time if they decided to stay in Kathmandu for some days.

Day 02 :

The destination of day 2 of Everest high pass trek is Phakding. The visitors left Kathmandu to reach Lukla. Lukla is about 30 minutes away from Kathmandu in flight. Lukla airport is also renowned as the most challenging and thrilling airports in the world. After reaching Lukla the travelers can spare some time for sightseeing. Phakding is 7.5 km away from Lukla. The travelers need to spend 3 to 3.5 hrs. hiking to get to Phakding. The night is spent on Phakding.

Day 03:

Namche bazar is the goal of day 3. The distance from Phakdint to Namche is 7.4km. It is 3 to 5 hours walk depending on the speed of the traveller. Namche bazar is one of the most awesome land marks in Everest high pass trek. Namche is also known as the gate way to the Everest. This is the place where the mountaineers and trekkers get their rest while going up or coming down. Mount Everest, Amadablam, Kantega, Thamserku are some of the Mountain and Mountain ranges that are seen from Namche.

Day 04:

The travellers wake on day 4 to reach Thame, in Everest high pass trek. Thame is 9.5km away from Namche. Thame is a small, beautiful, and peaceful village located in Namche VDC. The travellers will complete their journey in 5 to 7 hours. Thame is the route where in past days, was used for trade with Tibet. The night is spent at Thame.

Day 05 :

As the altitude increases the travelers need to be more careful and self-conscious about their health. The travelers wake today to reach Marlung in Everest high pass trek. The walking duration is about 4 to six hours. Taranga temple and Kyaroguba are the two major attraction point during the trek. The night on the day 5 is spent at Marlung.

Day 06 :

The destination of day 6 is Lungden. The travelling duration from Marlung to Lungden is about 4 hours. This day alone the travelers reaching Lungden will have climbed 500m above the sea level since start of the day. Kongde peak and Ngozumba glacier are the two noticeable landmarks that travelers see during their journey on day 6 of Everest high pass trek.

Day 07:
At day 7 the travellers reach the first high pass of, Everest high pass trek. Renjo la is the first high passes of the three. Renjo lake, Relama tso, Mount Makalu, Kongde view are some of the major attractions of Day 7. Gokyo lake is also visited on this very day. Gokyo lakes are the world’s highest freshwater lakes situated at the height of 4700-5000m. The night is spent at Gokyo valley.
Day 08:

The travellers then hike to Gokyo ri at the 8th day of Everest high pass trek. This day the travellers need to walk up to Gokyo ri and return to Gokyo again on the same day. It is located at the west side of Ngozumpa glacier. It is the largest glacier of Nepal as well as of the whole Himalayas. Gokyo ri also provides the amazing view of the Gokyo lakes and Gokyo valley.

Day 09 :

After returning from Gokyo ri and spending the night again at Gokyo village, the travellers aim to reach Thagnak on 9th day. Thagnak is 3 to 5 hours of walk away from Gokyo village. Thagnak is located at 4500m elevation from the sea level. The 9th night is spent at Thagnak, of Everest high pass trek.

Day 10 :

The destination of Day 10 of Everest high pass trek is Dzongla. The travelers reach Dzongla through the second high pass. Cho La pass is our second high pass of the Everest high pass trek. Cho la pass is situated at the elevation of 5300m from the sea level. It connects the two village Dzongla and Thagnak. Cho La pass is one of the most dangerous destination of our Everest high pass trek. The place is very beautiful with the enchanting view of the mountains; however, this beautiful place can result in accident if great caution is not applied. The pass needs to be crossed before mid-day, as early in the morning as possible as weather can go very bad.

5 to 7 hours walk from Thagnak will be enough for the travelers to reach Dzongla.

Day 11 :

The destination of Day 11 is Lobuche. 3 to 5 hours walk is enough for the travelers to reach Lobuche from Dzongla. Lobuche is the name of the mountain that lies near the khumbu glacier. Lobuche is also the name of the settlement which the travelers will reach in the 11th day journey. Thamserku, Kangtega, are some of the peaks that can be seen from the village of Lobuche. The night of 11th day is spent at Lobuche of Everest high pass trek.

Day 12 :

The destination of Day 12 is Chhukung. To go to Chhukung from Lobuche the travelers need to go through Kongma la. Kongma la is the 3rd pass of the Everest high pass trek. The pass is situated at 5535m above the sea level. It takes travelers 6 to 8 hours walk to get to Chhukung from Lobuche passing the Kongma la pass. The altitude is high and environment is challenging. The travelers need to take care of themselves and their friends. The night of this day is spent at Chhukung.

Day 13 :

The travelers wake on the 13th day of the trek to reach Tengboche. Tengboche is 7 to 8 hours walk away from Chhukung depending on the walking ability of the travellers. Pangboche village, some beautiful landscapes, some monastries can be seen during the journey towards Tengboche. The night is spent at Tengboche.

Day 14 :

The destination of day 14 is Monjo village. Monjo is a small village at the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is located at the Dudh kohi river valley north of Phakding.  It is situated at the elevation of 2835m. Monjo is about 7 hours walk away from Tengboche. Monjo village lies just below the entrance of the Sagarmatha national park entrance. Lukla monjo is the alternative trekking route for the travelers who are going towards the Mount Everest. The night is spent at Monjo village.

Day 15 :

At Day 15 the travellers will return to a familiar destination. The goal of the day 15 is to reach Lukla. The travellers will reach Lukla from Monjo village after 3 to 5 hours of walking. After reaching Lukla the trakking part of the journey has officially ended. However, the journey is far from over. The weeks of walking and exacting trek came to an end with lots of beautiful memory and strong bond. After reaching Lukla the travelers can rest. The night is spent at Lukla.

Day 16 :

At day 16 the travelers will return to Kathmandu via the Lukla airport. At day 16 the travelers will say farewell to the mountains and return to the city. They have completed one of the best and most challenging trekking routes in the world. Everest high pass trek. All the hardship, pain was worth it. The travelers will reach Kathmandu after 30 minutes of flight time. They can either rest or sightsee the valley. However, it is best that they rest as they had spent weeks of time walking at the one of the most difficult topography and harsh climate.

Day 17 :

The trek has ended; however, it would be unwise to leave Nepal without visiting Kathmandu. Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. The city is renowned for its cultural resources and abundance of heritage. Despite containing large number of heritage sites and magnificent cultural wonders it is very small in size and can be visited completely in a day or two. To be precise the city alone has seven world heritage sites listed by UNESCO.

Patan durbar square, Hanuman Dhoka, Bhaktapur Durbar square, Swyambunath, Boudha Nath, Changu Narayan and Pashupati Nath. All seven are the gem of Kathmandu valley and were constructed at various time points in history. All of these monuments talk about the history of the country and how the locals of the area had played a huge role protecting the culture and heritage.

Day 18 :

The travelers will leave by the Tribhuvan International Airport. The travelers need to arrive at the airport some time before the schedule of their flight.
